At the centre of the space stands a generous merchant’s counter, creating a natural transition between the kitchen and dining area. Acting as both a room divider and an additional workspace, it helps define the layout while maintaining the open and airy feel of the room. The counter also provides valuable storage and a practical surface that quickly becomes one of the most frequently used areas in the home.

In the mornings, the merchant’s counter serves as the perfect spot for breakfast preparations and casual family gatherings. The kitchen is painted in our signature colour Vintermossa, a soft, light green shade inspired by the muted tones of the Scandinavian landscape. The colour creates a calm and inviting atmosphere while highlighting the clean lines and timeless proportions that define a classic Shaker kitchen.
To add warmth, texture and visual interest, the family chose a combination of worktop materials throughout the kitchen. The merchant’s counter is topped with solid oak, while the main preparation areas feature both stainless steel and stone surfaces.
