For Elsa, the place feels very much like home. Her mother grew up in the village, and Elsa herself spent all her childhood summers here. Today, several relatives still live nearby—her aunt, uncle, and cousins—and the village has become a natural gathering place for the family. At the same time, Alvik has attracted more and more visitors from abroad. It’s not uncommon to meet Dutch, German, or French families who have chosen to spend their summers in this beautiful part of Dalarna.
