In Limhamn, in a residential neighbourhood lined with low 1960s houses, one of the homes features a contemporary-style kitchen with beautiful oak fronts — seemingly made to complement the architecture of the house itself.
For those dreaming of a kitchen made from solid wood, but who feel that neither a Shaker kitchen nor a 1920s kitchen suits their interior style, a Contemporary Kitchen is the perfect choice.
Just like our Shaker kitchens and 1920s kitchens, this Contemporary Kitchen is crafted entirely from 100% solid wood. No chipboard or laminate anywhere.

A stone worktop pairs beautifully with oak.
For this kitchen, the owners chose a limestone worktop. This particular variety is called “Emperador Grey” and was supplied by House of Design.

Pull-out shelving in the corner cabinet.
The kitchen mainly consists of base cabinets with pull-out drawers, but also includes cabinets with doors. The corner cabinets are fitted with pull-out shelves, making it possible to store a large amount while still maintaining easy access.
The kitchen also features four pull-out drawers with custom-built drawer inserts: one for spices, one for knives, one for cutlery, and one for kitchen utensils such as ladles, spatulas, and similar tools.
White tiles and light-coloured walls create a beautiful contrast against the wooden kitchen.

The cooker is from Husqvarna and the extractor hood is from Siemens.
The sink cabinet is 80 cm wide and includes a pull-out drawer with integrated stainless steel recycling containers.
